An improved moisture management system for installation over doors and windows in buildings that included exterior, stucco-covered, curtain walls comprising an integrally formed, three sided, elongated track including a base, an upright front wall that includes at its base weep holes for the removal of entrained moisture as well as a longitudinal forward extending finish stop above the weep holes, and an upright rear wall at opposing elongated edges of the base, and, extending angularly downward from the outside of the base, and integrally formed therewith, a drip plate that permits ready drainage of water exiting the moisture management system through the weep holes in the upright front wall. Preferably, elongated striations in the front faces of both the front and rear upright walls as well as holes in the upright front wall above the finish stop provide improved adherence of sealants and adhesives used in the installation process.

A multilayer breathable moisture management and compressive device, having a laminate material that includes a thin, hydrophillic polyurethane foam coated on both surfaces with an adhesive. A stretchable elastomeric polymer layer is bonded to each of the adhesive surfaces. The polymer layers preferably are microfibers having a greater number of filaments on a skin engaging side than on an opposite side thereof. The resulting device draws moisture from the skin whereby moisture generated by the underlying skin is absorbed into the device and is thereafter conveyed into the polyurethane foam and then into the outer polymer layer such that the moisture is permitted to evaporate from the surface of the device. The device may be used as a sleeve for providing compression especially during exercise or may be used as a wound dressing or the like, providing moisture management and/or heat retention under compression.

A three dimensional fabric suitable for use as a moisture management system for footwear and apparel which includes a first surface and a second surface which encase a center section. At least one surface is water repellent and may include pores of a predetermined size to allow moisture to pass therethrough. The fabric further contains a moisture absorbing agent which functions to capture and hold moisture which is later evaporated within a predetermined time period.

An improved moisture transfer interface for knit products, such as socks. The interface requires a first knit portion comprising predominately hydrophilic yarn and a second knit portion comprising predominately hydrophobic yarn. The first and second knit portions each possess elongated fingers of their respective yarns which are interlocked with one another. Moisture that is absorbed by the hydrophilic first knit portion is wicked into the hydrophobic second knit portion and subsequently evaporates. An aircraft fuselage shell is fabricated of a double-walled composite structural component, including a core element bonded and sandwiched between an inner cover layer and an outer cover layer. The inner cover layer forms the main load bearing fuselage inner skin, and the outer cover layer forms the fuselage outer skin which carries a smaller proportion of the loads. The core element may consist of fiber-reinforced composite material while the cover layers may consist of an aluminum alloy, another metal, or fiber-reinforced composite material. The core element is air permeable and has air flow channels extending longitudinally therethrough in at least one direction. The cover layers do not seal or enclose the core element, so the core element is ventilatable. A ventilating airflow carries moisture as water vapor out of the core element, and then the moisture is condensed and removed by a moisture management unit.

An improved sock wherein moisture distribution, wicking, evaporation and other phases of control are all managed by the sock construction. The temperature modification device provides a source of heat or cold without connection to an outside device for helping a wearer maintain his body temperature by applying heat or cold to an area of the wearer's body. The invention relates to a method for cuttage propagation of rhododendron lapponicum, which includes: making a mixture of peat and pearlite into cuttage substrate according to a volute ratio of from 1:3 to 1:4, cutting a stem of a current year growing semi-lignified branch of a rhododendron lapponicum plant which is under no pest and disease damage and 3-5 years old as a cutting, and retaining two to three complete leaves at the top of the cutting; dipping the base of the cutting into rooting reagent A or B prior to inserting into the substrate; and performing intermittent spray for subsequent water management, maintaining mass water content of soil to be 60-65%, and maintaining air humidity to be more than 80% during a period from cuttage to rooting of a cutting seedling. The rooting reagent A includes IBA (indole-3-butyric acid) 0.8-1.0% and thiophanate-methyl 2-4%. The rooting reagent B includes IBA 0.015-0.02% and thiophanate-methyl 1-2%. By the method, rooting rate can reach morethan 85%, rooting of the cutting only requires about 60 days, and production cycle is short.

The present invention provides an athletic glove. The athletic glove has an improved padding construction to allow for increased flexibility of the glove. The preparation method of the waterproof and breathable coated fabric disclosed by the invention has the advantages of shorter technological process, energy savingand CO2 emission reduction, low cost in investment and processing, and thus, the preparation method has more competitive advantages; and the waterproof and breathable coated fabric prepared by the preparation method can manage the moisture on the surface of a human body, the moisture management is in direct influence on wearing comfort, and the functional textiles are attractive in appearance, are breathable and have certain protective functions.
