The tool comprises the following steps of an expansion output module having an output port docked with the first ends of a plurality of cables to be tested; an expansion input module having an input port docked with the second ends of the plurality of cables to be tested; a main control module connected to the expansion output module and the expansion input module respectively, and configured to sequentially send test signals to the first ends of the plurality of cables to be tested through the expansion output module, receive response signals from the second ends of the corresponding cables to be tested through the expansion input module, and determine whether there are misconnections and disconnections of the plurality of cables to be tested according to the test signals and response signals; and a display module.
