According to the control system and the control method, simple structure and portability can be achieved, and the actual rotation condition can be timely corrected and fine-tuned while the rotation of wheels are controlled, so that the precision and accuracy of wheel rotation is ensured. The steering control system comprises a master control module, a hydraulic steering control module and a steering angle measurement feedbackmodule, wherein the master control module is used for issuing a steering instruction to the hydraulic steering control module, receiving data fed back by the steering angle measurement feedback module and performing angle calculation so as to judge whether wheel steering meets the requirements or not; the hydraulic steering control module is used for controlling the wheels to rotate according tothe steering instruction of the master control module; and the steering angle measurement feedback module is used for measuring the actual rotation angle of the wheels and feeding back to the master control module. According to the technical scheme, the steering control system of the automated guided vehicle and the control method thereof are suitable for steering process of the guided vehicle.
