Benefits of technology

This patented technology allows applications running across different networks (the Internet) without having their own separate states). When one part needs service from another portion, they only require this service's context within its own system called the Binding Support Network Element (BSE), instead sending requests directly towards other components like the Application Protocol Control Node (APC)). By defaulting to receiving notifications during these interactions, users may have fewer complexities than if all were connected through a single interface. Additionally, the BSE helps optimize resource allocation between two domains efficiently.

Problems solved by technology

The technical issue addressed in this patented text relates to improving the balance between different types of networks by supporting both AMF and PMC functions without being able to support them simultaneously or separately.

Abstract

The invention provides a method for load balancing. The method comprises the following steps: an application network element failing to send a message related to a policy session to a source policy control network element, and after the message related to the policy session fails to be sent, the application network element sending a first request message to a binding support network element, the first request message being used for querying a target policy control network element providing service for the policy session, and the target policy control network element and the source policy control network element belonging to the same policy control network element set. According to the method, an application network element sends a first request message to a binding support network elementafter failing to send a message related to a policy session to a source policy control network element, so that the application network element can send the message related to the policy session to atarget policy control network element, and load balancing of the policy control network element is realized.
