Abstract

A motorized furniture assembly (10) having seat and back support sections (22, 30) moves between sofa and bed positions relative to a stationary frame (12) by activation of two motorized drive assemblies (62, 462). The motorized drive assemblies (62, 462) move seat support brackets (62) of a seat section (22) forward and backward relative to the stationary frame (12). Movement of the seat section(22) moves a back support section (30) between horizontal and raised positions. Two linkage assemblies (110) control movement of the motorized furniture assembly (10) between the sofa and bed positions upon actuation of said at least one actuator (58a, 58b) for activating the motorized drive assemblies (62, 462).
