The method comprises the steps of acquiring a driving image in vehicle driving; performing imageenhancement processing on the driving image to obtain an identification image; performing edge detection on the identification image, and determining a to-be-determined mark conforming to a specific shape in the detection image; performing color detection on the to-be-determined signs, and the to-be-determined signs meeting the preset color gamut range are reserved as determined traffic signs; andidentifying the determined traffic sign. By the adoption of the method, the situation that recognition is omitted or irrelevant objects are mistakenly recognized as traffic signs can be avoided. A traffic safety factor is improved.
