The method comprises following steps: acquiring gait pressure signals, and identifying gait phases by adopting fuzzylogic reasoning rules on the basis of the gait pressure signals; recording a phase sequence of the gait phases; calculating the gait phase duration and the total gait cycle according to phase sequence intervals; counting the abnormal gait cycle deviating from standard gait according to medical standard phase duration on the basis of a Perry model standard gait sequence; and obtaining an abnormalcycle ratio on the basis of the abnormal gait cycle and the total gait cycle, and utilizing the abnormal cycle ratio as gait health assessment basis. According to the embodiment of the invention, a fuzzy logic reasoning system is applied to a gait phase detecting process, stable continuous gait phase detection is realized, trapezoidal and triangular membership functions are adopted in output membership functions, a personal gait phase sequence is not preset, internal difference of individual gaits is taken into consideration, and the method and the device are suitable for meeting gait assessment demands of various crowds.
