Abstract

Systems and methods for error correcting code ("ECC") error handling are described herein. In one aspect, the systems and methods can operate ECC functions on raw data. The ECC function may include generating ECC syndrome data by the ECC syndrome data generation module. ECC syndrome data can be derived from raw data. The system and method can further inject errors based on ECC syndrome data or raw data. The system and method may further determine whether an ECC error detected by the ECC checker corresponds to a failure of the ECC function or to an error based on ECC syndrome data or raw data injection.
