A blade apparatus and a transverse cutting machine. The blade apparatus comprises: an elongated cutting blade forcutting a pulp board, adapted to be fastened in a recess of a cutting roller; an elongated guide bar adapted to support the cutting blade on an opposite surface, the guide bar comprising an opening for the fastener; a fastener comprising a head for fastening the guide bar to the opposite surface by means of the fastener through the opening in the guide bar; and an adjusting element for positioningthe guide bar in the radial direction of the cutting roller. The bar includes a longitudinal blade recess of the cutting blade. Longitudinal blade recesses are formed on opposite sides of the head ofeach fastener from the guide bar, adapted to lock the cutting blade between the guide bar and the opposite surface by means of frictional locking.
