Abstract

The present disclosure provides a system that may display a graphical user interface (GUI) via a display; may receive a first user input indicating that a surgical tool instrument is to be used as a pointer associated with the GUI; may receive a first plurality of images from an image sensor; and can determine a digital model of the surgical tool instrument from the first plurality of images, thedigital model including a pattern of the surgical tool instrument. The system may further train the digital model based at least on the first plurality of images. The system may further receive a second plurality of images via the image sensor. The system may further determine a mode of movement of the surgical tool instrument from the second plurality of images and the digital model, the mode ofmovement being available to select an icon of the GUI. The system may include a microscope integrated display including the display.

Description

[0001] background technical field [0002] The present disclosure relates to quality assurance in medical procedures, and more particularly to systems and methods for verifying patient information utilizing a medical procedure or process elements of a medical procedure. Background technique [0003] Computer systems may assist surgeons in performing surgical procedures. The computer system provides a graphical user interface. However, in a sterile environment, surgeons cannot easily touch non-sterile devices, such as interfaces to computer systems. Currently, there are different possibilities for the surgeon to interact with the interface of the computer system, such as foot pedals, surgical assistants (eg, medical staff), and single-use discards for interaction on touchscreens and / or keyboards (eg, cotton swabs). These solutions can be error-prone and can lead to typos. For example, during interaction with the computer system, the surgeon may have to physically move his...
