Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a power supply device capable of simultaneously using a plurality of power storage cells in cooperation with each other in accordance with conditionsduring use. According to an embodiment, the power supply device includes a control circuit, a converter, an inverter, and a first power storage unit and a second power storage unit. The second powerstorage unit has a larger power storage capacity than the first power storage unit. When the AC power supply is in a normal state, and the control circuit detects that the power consumption exceeds athreshold value, the control circuit controls the first power storage unit to discharge, and when the control circuit detects that the power consumption does not exceed the threshold value, the control circuit controls at least one of the first power storage unit and the second power storage unit to charge. When the AC power supply is in an abnormal state, the control circuit controls the second power storage unit to discharge, and when it is detected that power consumption exceeds the threshold value, the control circuit controls the first power storage unit to discharge.
