Abstract

The image processing apparatus includes a paper tray, a pickup roller, a paper feed roller, a lifting mechanism, and a control device. The paper tray is used for loading paper. The pickup roller and the paper tray clamp and pick up the paper. The paper feed roller conveys the paper picked up by the pick-up roller. The lifting mechanism can lift the paper tray to an ascending position where the pickup roller is in contact with the paper and a descending position lower than the ascending position.
