Abstract

The present application provides a path optimization method and device, which are applied to an SDN controller. The method first determines M target paths for carrying traffic, and then determines the overlapping path segments that appear repeatedly in the M target paths and have the same head and tail nodes; for each overlapping path segment, determine that the overlapping path segment belongs to the target path. Whether at least one link label corresponding to the above can be replaced with the tail node label of the overlapping path segment to shorten the label depth of the target path; and after label replacement, determine whether the label stacks of at least two target paths to which the overlapping path segment belongs are the same , if they are the same, merge the at least two target paths to which they belong into one path represented by the label stack after replacing the label to reduce the number of paths. Since the number of forwarding paths to be maintained is reduced, the processing pressure of the SDN controller can be effectively reduced; at the same time, due to the shortened label depth, the impact on the forwarding performance of network nodes can be effectively reduced.
