Abstract

The slow-cooling cover can accommodate slabs which are continuously cast in a continuous casting machine, in the same number as the number of strands of the continuous casting machine, and is provided with: side wall parts (31) that that can cover the entirety of the side surfaces of the slabs (B) in the same number as the number of strands disposed on a bottom surface; and a top plate part (32) that can cover the upper surfaces of the slabs (B) in the same number as the number of strands disposed on the bottom surface, wherein a thermal insulating member is provided to the inner wall surfaces of the side wall parts (31) and the top plate part (32).
