Depending on the driver's state of mind, the driver's reactions may be slower than normal. The test system can be used to measure the driver's response time when the vehicle is not moving, or it can be measured during normal driving. The control operation of the vehicle may be adjusted to accommodate or compensate for the driver's response time. Predictive action can be taken in anticipation of a slightly delayed input from the driver, thereby avoiding a potentially dangerous situation. The invention relates to customized vehicle operation based on driver state. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to assisted driving of a vehicle. The response time of the driver may be measured and control operations may be adjusted to accommodate or compensate the response time of the driver. Predictive actions in anticipation of a slightly delayed input from the driver may be taken to avoid potentially dangerous conditions. A vehicle may be controlled to slow down to allow more time to a potential event to accommodate a slow response from the driver.
