Abstract

The invention relates to an appearance feature updating method and system for multi-target tracking in a dense crowd scene, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining a current frame image, and obtaining a detection frame of a plurality of targets in the current frame image; performing feature extraction on the targets in the plurality of detection frames, and determining appearance features of the plurality of targets in the current frame image and motion features of the plurality of targets in the current frame image; determining a cost matrix according to the extracted features; judging whether the previous frame target is successfully matched with the current frame target by using the cost matrix; if yes, updating the appearance characteristics of the current frame target according to the distribution weight; and if not, not updating the appearance characteristics of the current frame target. According to the invention, the appearance features are updated by using the distribution weights, so that the accuracy of multi-target tracking is improved.
