Tissue removal probes comprise an elongated member, a drive shaft rotatably disposed within the member, and a rotatably tissue removal element mounted to the distal end of the drive shaft. One tissue removal element comprises a plurality of tissue-cutting filaments affixed at proximal and distal ends of the tissue removal element. Another tissue removal element has independent counter-rotating tissue removal elements to maintain stability during a bone cutting procedure. Still another tissue removal element takes the form of a drill bit with fluted cutting grooves. Yet another tissue removal element has cascading tissue-cutting notches that can be reciprocatably moved to remove tissue within a hole.

The present invention relates to a plasma-generating device comprising an anode, a cathode and an elongate plasma channel which extends substantially in the direction from said cathode to said anode. The plasma channel has a throttling portion which is arranged in said plasma channel between said cathode and an outlet opening arranged in said anode. Said throttling portion divides said plasma channel into a high pressure chamber, which is positioned on a side of the throttling portion closest to the cathode, and has a first maximum cross-sectional surface transversely to the longitudinal direction of the plasma channel, and a low pressure chamber, which opens into said anode and has a second maximum cross-sectional surface transversely to the longitudinal direction of the plasma channel, said throttling portion having a third cross-sectional surface transversely to the longitudinal direction of the plasma channel which is smaller than said first maximum cross-sectional surface and said second maximum cross-sectional surface. Moreover at least one intermediate electrode is arranged between said cathode and said throttling portion. The invention also relates to a plasma surgical device, use of such a plasma surgical device in surgery and a method of generating a plasma.

As one example, an engine system for a vehicle is provided, comprising an internal combustion engine including an air intake system and an exhaust system; a first turbocharger including a first compressor arranged along a first branch of the air intake system, a first turbine arranged along a first branch of the exhaust system, and a first turbine bypass passage include a first wastegate; a second turbocharger including a second compressor arranged along a second branch of the air intake system, a second turbine arranged along a second branch of the exhaust system, and a second turbine bypass passage including a second wastegate; a first exhaust gas sensor arranged along the first branch of the exhaust system downstream of the first turbine and first wastegate; a second exhaust gas sensor arranged along the second branch of the exhaust system downstream of the second turbine and the second wastegate; and a control system configured to command both the first wastegate and the second wastegate to a closed position or an opened position and to indicate one of said wastegates as unresponsive to said command in response to a temperature difference between the first and second branches indicated by the first and second exhaust gas sensors.
