Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle adaptive cruise control system, method, and computer readable medium. An adaptive cruise control system for a vehicle includes a stop position determination system configured to determine a stop position at which a vehicle will have to stop due to a possible event occurring in front of the vehicle on a road on which the vehicle is moving; a cross-traffic position determination system configured to determine whether the determined stop position is a position, referred to as a cross-traffic position, where cross-traffic may occur; and an adaptive control system configured to adjust at least one driving control of the vehicle based on a determination that the determined stop position is a cross-traffic position.
