The liquid handling module 10 is provided with an outer cover 74 and a top cover 76, both of which enclose other working components. Abstract

A sample processing module and apparatus for calibrating a multi-channel liquid processing device are disclosed. The sample processing module co-operates with a weighing balance and includes a holding device having holders arranged sequentially and equally spaced apart from each other and configured to receive containers. The sample processing module further comprises a support device comprising an array of prongs that provide lateral support to the holder when the holder is detached from the load receiver; and an actuation device operatively connected to the holder through the array of prongs. The actuation means can be operated to mount the holder to the load receiver one at a time by disengaging the respective prongs supporting the holder. A system and method of operating an actuation device are also disclosed. The sample processing module of the present invention is modular and compact, enabling easy manufacturing, handling, repair and servicing.
