Embodiment Construction

[0091] Imaging systems and CTO reentry devices

[0092] Figure 1A A partially exploded perspective view of an embodiment of imaging device 100 is shown. The imaging device 100 may include an elongated catheter body 102, a first catheter lumen 104 extending through the catheter body 102 (see also Figure 5A and Figures 6A-6E ) or channel, and a second catheter lumen 106 extending through the catheter body 102 (see also Figure 5A and Figures 6A-6E ) or channel. The first catheter lumen 104 may be separated from the second catheter lumen 106 by at least one separation layer 108 (a portion of which is Figure 1A , 1B, 5A and 6A-6E). The elongated catheter body 102 may be configured to be advanced through a body lumen of a patient (eg, a blood vessel of the patient). In another embodiment, the imaging apparatus 100 may be a CTO re-entry device.

[0093] As discussed in more detail in the following sections, the imaging device 100 may be used to safely deliver a guidewire...

Abstract

An imaging apparatus and an operating method thereof are disclosed. The imaging device includes one or more light transmissive windows defined along the spacer layer and a catheter outlet port defined along the ventral side of the catheter body. The catheter outlet port allows the guidewire to extend out of the second catheter lumen, and the catheter outlet port is aligned with the at least one light inlet window such that the guidewire falls within the field of view of the imaging component when the guidewire extends partially through the catheter outlet port.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to the field of intravascular imaging, crossover and / or debulking procedures, and more particularly, to imaging catheters, re-entry devices and / or atherectomy devices, systems and methods of operation thereof. Background technique [0002] Minimally invasive surgery has consistently been shown to have equal or greater efficacy with lower mortality than traditional open surgery. For many of these minimally invasive procedures, being able to accurately track the positioning of instruments inserted into a patient's vasculature is critical to surgeons and other medical professionals performing such procedures. Most minimally invasive procedures involve the use of flexible guide wires and catheters, which are used to guide the catheter to the target vessel site. However, proper steering of the guidewire to the target vessel site can be challenging, time-consuming, and fraught with risks. For example, improperly mane...
