Embodiment Construction

[0009] The subsystem 100 shown in FIG. 1 (part of the space heating system of FIG. 2 ) is described in detail below and with reference to a number of variants in the aforementioned patent EP-A-1 205 993 . It comprises a cell 10 of one fuel cell with a fuel cell stack 11 connected in series, in which two gas educts A and B are used to generate electrical energy (voltage U) and hot exhaust gases. The electrical energy is distributed to another part of the space heating system via two electrodes 12a and 12b. Another part of the description is shown in FIG. 2 . The two electrodes 12 a , 12 b described are represented there as a single connection point, electrical output 12 . The educts A and B are supplied to the cell 10 via lines 1 and 2 (corresponding to inputs 13a and 13b). Said hot exhaust air is drawn off by means of a fan 16 at outlet 13 c , wherein the exhaust air passes through line 3 and a heat exchanger 15 . The cooled exhaust gas C is discharged to the environment. ...

Abstract

The system has an electrical inverter converting direct current of the fuel cells into alternating current and operating in two states, where in one state feeds into a public network and in another feeds into an island network. A control line is provided for short-term maintenance of functions with respect to a power cut of the public network. The controls and circuits maintain the functions using supply line. An Independent claim is also included for a method for operating the space heating system.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a space heating system according to the preamble of claim 1 with a fuel cell and a connection to a public grid, and also to a method for operating the system. Background technique [0002] Patent EP-A-1 205 993 discloses a space heating system in which heat and electrical energy are obtained and utilized in the manner of a high-temperature fuel cell from a gas mixture comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide. A special control described there ensures reliable and safe operation of the system. The thermal energy can be used to heat service water and / or for space heating. The electrical energy can be used to operate sensors and actuators (eg for the operation of pumps). The rest of this energy can also be supplied to the public grid. The gas mixture is introduced through a main gas valve arranged upstream of the fuel cell. The control of the valve is designed in such a way that when the current for the control of the valve is ...
