Embodiment approach 1

[0019] Embodiments of the present invention will be described below using the drawings. Figure 5 It is a schematic sectional view of a color laser beam printer as an example of the image forming apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present invention.

[0020] In this figure, 100 is a color laser beam printer (hereinafter referred to as a printer). This printer 100 has an image forming unit 100A including four photosensitive drums 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d as image carriers, and four scanning units 3a, 3b, which are constituted by a rotary polygon mirror and a reflection mirror. 3c, 3d, etc. Further, this image forming unit 100A forms latent images on four photosensitive drums 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d whose surfaces are uniformly charged by charging rollers 2a, 2b, 2c, and 2d. The scanning units 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d irradiate light corresponding to image information, thereby forming latent images on the surfaces of the photosensitive drums 1a, 1b, 1c1d. Thereafter, each latent i...

Embodiment approach 2

[0036] In the description so far, the holding member holding the tension roller 9e has been described by taking the case where an arm mechanism is arranged to tension the belt as an example. However, in the present embodiment, as a holding mechanism for holding the tension roller 9e, a method in which the belt can only be slid in the belt loading direction and the belt is tensioned by the compression coil spring through the tension roller 9e is used. The movement of the tension roller 9e is guided by the sliding portion. But the part that slides is a one-sided independent form.

[0037] Figure 6 It is a schematic sectional view of such a color laser beam printer as an example of the image forming apparatus according to the second embodiment of the present invention. In this figure, with Figure 5 The same symbols indicate the same or corresponding parts. In this figure, the tension roller 9e is held slidably in the belt loading direction in a slide groove provided on a ma...

Embodiment approach 3

[0039] In the description so far, the belt regulating members 18a, 18b are arranged at both ends of the regulating roller 9b which regulates the deviation and meandering of the aforementioned belt.

[0040] In this embodiment, if Figure 7A and Figure 7B As shown, belt restricting members 18a, 18b are arranged at both ends of the tension roller 9e. In addition, the length of the tension roller 9e in the longitudinal direction is longer than that of other belt tension rollers, and the length can be accommodated inside the regulating guide portions (ribs) 19a, 19b of the endless belt 9a. Then, when the endless belt 9a deviates, the end portion of the belt regulating member 19a or 19b, that is, gets on the tension roller 9e. Thus, when the deviation occurs, the tension roller 9e is pushed toward the inner side of the endless belt 9a whose regulating guide portion (rib) lands on one of the belt regulating members 18a or 18b. In this way, as described in the first embodiment, t...

Abstract

The image forming apparatus includes an endless belt, a first tensing member having a first and second end portions, wherein the first and second end portions of said first tensing member are positioned in a direction orthogonal to a direction in which said first tensing member guides movement of said endless belt, a guide member, and a second tensing member positioned next to said first tensing member on a downstream side in a belt rotation direction to said first tensing member and for putting said endless belt on with tension from an internal surface of said endless belt, wherein when saidendless belt deviates toward a second end portion side, the first end portion of the first tensing member moves by said endless belt in a direction from an external surface of the belt to an internalsurface of said endless belt, and wherein when the first end portion moves in a direction from an external surface of the belt to an internal surface of said endless belt, the first end portion movesin a direction away from said second tensing member by said guide member. It achieves to preventing an endless belt from deviating and meandering more effectively than before.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus using an endless belt, and relates to a structure capable of suppressing deviation or meandering (skew) of the belt in the width direction when the belt is driven. Background technique [0002] In recent years, image forming apparatuses have been developed that use photoreceptor belts or intermediate transfer belts to improve toner image conveyance, and use endless belts as recording material conveyance mechanisms to improve recording material conveyance. [0003] On the one hand, in the image forming apparatus using the endless belt as described above, various functions are improved, but on the other hand, measures must be taken to suppress deviation or meandering of the endless belt from the reference track during driving. [0004] As a main factor of the misalignment caused by the shifting movement of the endless belt, there may be misalignment between the members that suspend the endless b...
