Benefits of technology

This patent describes an improved design for a backpack that includes side panels which are designed to protect the wearer from gunfire. These side panels can rotate outward on either side of the person wearing the backpack, allowing them to move flexibly during training or other activities. Additionally, there is also a detachable chest protector that can be added if needed. Overall, this new design provides better safety for those who use backpacks while performing various tasks.

Problems solved by technology

This patent discusses the issue of heavy personal armor worn by military and security professionals during training and operations. One challenge faced by those individuals is the discomfort caused by carrying the full weight of the armor through their shoulders, which can lead to pain, fatigue, and limited mobility. Another concern is how to prevent the straps of backpacks from causing damage when worn together with the armor. The patent proposes a new design for a lightweight body armor system that reduces stress on the shoulders and allows for better distribution of weight. Additionally, the patent addresses the needs of non-combatants who may still face danger but do not require extensive protection.
