Abstract

The present invention provides a method for saving power during discontinuous transmission (DTX) of a TDD receiver, the method comprising receiving a transport format combination pointer (TFCI) of a coded composite transport channel (CCTrCH) having a plurality of transport channels (TrCH), each TrCH contains at least one code and time slot and has an associated transmission time interval (TTI) consisting of at least one radio frame, then the transmitted code, time slot and CCTrCH are determined from the received TFCI radio frames in the shortest TTI among them, and turn off the receiver when no codes and time slots are transmitted in the shortest TTI. The purpose of power saving can be achieved by turning off the baseband processing of all or part of the coding time slots that are not necessary to transmit during discontinuous transmission.
