Abstract

A knitted fabric female fastening portion for a mechanical fastener having a knitted fabric, an underlying substrate, a bonding layer, said bonding layer having a first plurality of non-intersecting bond lines and a second plurality of non-intersecting bond lines which are combined to form a pattern of intersecting bond lines that define tessellating pattern elements. Said pattern of intersecting bond lines may have a CD percent coverage standard deviation not equal to 0% and an MD percent coverage standard deviation not equal to 0%.

Description

technical field [0001] This invention relates to bonding patterns for constructing the female fastening portion of knitted fabric fasteners. More particularly, the present invention relates to bond patterns for use in the construction of knitted fabric landing zones for use in disposable absorbent articles. Background technique [0002] Refastenable mechanical fastening systems are used in many consumer product applications. These fastening systems are used to attach one part of an article to another part of the same article, another article or a device. Typically, a refastenable mechanical fastening system includes a receiving (or female) member and an engaging (or male) member. The receiving member generally includes a plurality of fiber engaging elements (eg, loops). The engagement member generally includes a plurality of hook elements. The hook is wrappable with the collar to form a connection between the engagement member and the receiving member. [0003] One part...
