A method for culturing the seeds of photosensitive and thermo-sensitive male sterility line of low-temp sterile or short-day low-temp sterile rice mainly includes the following steps: 1) choosing male parent and female parent and sowing, wherein the photosensitive and thermo-sensitive sterility line of low-temp sterile or short-day low-temp sterile is taken as the female parent; 2) during young panicle fertility transform sensitive stage of female parent, irrigating with cold water to lower the temperature of panicle when the ambient temperature is higher than the critical temperature of fertility transform of female parent, in order to keep the young panicle at the temperature which is lower than critical temperature of fertility transform and maintain completely male sterility; 3) hybridizing male parent and female parent; 4) growing and harvesting. The invention can resolve the problems of sterility and instability generated during culturing the seeds of photosensitive and thermo-sensitive sterility line of low-temp sterile or short-day low-temp sterile type rice, and can artificially control sterility of the rice seeds.
