Abstract

A method for evaluating a patient is disclosed herein. The method includes performing an exercise test on a patient, obtaining an electrocardiogram during the exercise test, converting the electrocardiogram to an audio file, and analyzing the audio file in order to evaluate the patient. A corresponding system for evaluating a patient is also provided.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to methods and systems for evaluating patients. Background technique [0002] An electrocardiograph is a cardiac diagnostic / monitoring system adapted to record the electrical activity of a patient's heart. An electrocardiograph typically includes an array of sensors or transducers placed at predetermined locations on a patient's body. Electrocardiographs are typically performed during training testing, in which a patient is evaluated while the patient is subjected to some form of vigorous physical activity, such as running on a treadmill. [0003] Generally, the data recorded by an electrocardiograph is often displayed in a graph called an electrocardiogram (ECG). It is well known that visual analysis of the various waves that make up the ECG can yield important diagnostic information. One problem is that visual analysis does not reveal all the information contained in the ECG. Another problem is that visual ...
