Benefits of technology

This technology divides an entire picture into different parts - one with more detail on it but also some gray regions around them – which helps make sure everything looks good when displayed correctly by adjusting certain parameters like color balance settings.

Problems solved by technology

The technical problem addressed in this patented method relates to improving the quality of digital cameras' captured scenes due to variations in ambient illumination levels caused by factors like weather changes during different periods of daylight hours. Current techniques have difficulty accurately adjusting how much outdoor lights enter through lens openings while maintaining good detail resolution on low contrast regions where there can still be noisy background noise.

Embodiment Construction

[0022] The main contents of the present invention are as figure 1 shown, including the following steps:

[0023] Step 101: Divide the digital image into multiple regions;

[0024] Step 102: Determine the gain value of each area according to the average luminance value of each area;

[0025] Step 103: Perform exposure compensation on the pixels of the digital image according to the gain value of the region.

[0026] In order to make the object, technical solution and advantages of the present invention clearer, the present invention will be further elaborated below in conjunction with specific examples.

[0027] In the solution of the present invention, a digital image can be divided into multiple regions in various ways. In one of the most common cases, a digital image is divided into m×n regions, and adjacent regions have a common boundary, where m and n are pixel values, and m and n can be the same or different. For example, the size of each region can be 4×6, or 16×16 a...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for exposing and compensating digital images, comprising the steps as follows: digital images are divided into a plurality of regions; the gain value of the region is determined according to the average brightness value of each region; according to the gain value of the region, the pixels of the digital images are exposed and compensated. The invention also discloses a device for exposing and compensating the digital images. The proposal of the invention can darken the bright area in the digital images, brighten the dark area in the digital image and can remain the details in the images as much as possible.
