Embodiment Construction

[0029] Embodiments of the present invention will now be described in detail, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein like reference numerals refer to like parts throughout. The embodiments are described below in order to explain the present invention by referring to the figures.

[0030] The present invention is based on the traditional MoG background subtraction method, in which the scene model is trained and updated online. In the scene model, the range of available colors for each pixel is recorded along with their weights. In this scene model, a gradient map is maintained to store the gradient of the background. Because the image difference caused by camera movement is related to the gradient map, the threshold for background subtraction should be adaptively set according to the image gradient.

Abstract

Provided is a device and process for detecting and restraining the impact of mobile camera moving in a monitoring system, the device including: an image capturing module for capturing new images; an image processing module, for comparing the captured new images with the scene model, updating the scene model based upon the comparative result, and determining the pixel status in the image according to the updated result of the scene model to test whether the camera has moved. If the camera is detected to have moved, the error alarm resulting from camera moving is restrained.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to surveillance systems, and more particularly to a method for detecting and suppressing the effects of camera movement in a surveillance system. Background technique [0002] Surveillance cameras are widely used for public safety. However, some additional labor is required to check if any sensitive events have occurred. Therefore, the hot spot in the surveillance system lies in the research of smart cameras that can detect, track and analyze the behavior of people and other objects. [0003] In the practical application of surveillance cameras, some external factors will affect the performance of automatic systems. These factors include: weather (wind, snow, and rain), camera settings, and other environmental conditions. In general, typical background subtraction methods require the camera to be absolutely stable. However, due to wind, storms, passing trucks, or even human manipulation, the camera cannot be guaranteed...
