Embodiment Construction

[0017] The above and other technical features and advantages of the present invention will be described in more detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0018] figure 1 It is a flowchart of a method of using XML to represent electronic dictionary data according to an embodiment of the present invention. Please refer to figure 1 First, in step S11, various raw data are passed through corresponding processing procedures to generate corresponding XML files. For example, the original data A passes the processing program A to generate the XML file A, and the original data B passes the processing program B to generate the XML file B. The original data is, for example, English-Chinese dictionary, Chinese-English dictionary, English-English dictionary, professional dictionary, American language for life, travel conversation, etc., text data provided by various publishers for application in electronic dictionaries. However, the format of the original data provided b...

Abstract

The invention provides a method for expressing data of an electronic dictionary by employing extend markup language (XML for short). The method adopts a generated XML file which is more structural, standard and readable as an intermediate transitional data file, so that the problem of a big difference between initial data provided by a publisher and binary data applied to the hardware of the electronic dictionary is solved; because the modes of various initial data are regulated and defined uniformly, all you need to do is to modify a conversion program being responsible for generating the binary data from the XML file when the binary data is modified, thereby greatly reducing the testing difficulty and the workload.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method of expressing electronic dictionary data, and more specifically to a method of expressing electronic dictionary data using eXtensible Markup Language (XML). Background technique [0002] With the advent of the digital age, learning is gradually becoming electronic and informatized. The popularization of electronic dictionaries or dictionaries has greatly reduced the time for people to look up data while studying. In addition to electronic dictionary machines, products such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), MP3 or MP4 have added electronic dictionary functions. For developers, the method of processing electronic dictionary data is usually based on the original data provided by the publisher in different formats, and the corresponding program is used to generate the binary data that is finally applied to the hardware. When the format of these binary data is modified, the original program used to ge...
