The vehicle 10 includes a main body or shell frame 12 forming the outer shell of the vehicle, and tracks 14 provided on both sides of the vehicle. As explained below, housing 12 provides a preferably watertight enclosure containing space for the payload and compartments for machinery and passengers. Tracks 14 are formed in any convenient manner to provide flotation lift to the vehicle while providing tank-like traction to the vehicle when on the ground. Additionally, the tracks are segmented and also provide propulsion to the vehicle when performing water flotation missions.
