The invention aims at solving the problem that the complex operation of procedure validation before transmitting information between two equipments in the CATV signal monitoring network causes low transmission efficiency. The invention provides the operation method of the CATV signal monitoring network, which is characterized in that a monitor uninterruptedly sends out registration information and the interval between twice sending of the registration information is shorter than a set duration; the registration information sent out by the monitor is received and the operating mode of the monitor is recorded as on-line; if the registration information of the monitoris not received in the set duration, the operating mode of the monitor is recorded as off-line; when the transmitting equipment requests to transmit information to one monitor, the operating mode of the monitor is inquired; if the operating mode is inquired to be off-line, the transmission is not conducted; if the operating mode is inquired to be on-line, the transmission is conducted.
