Abstract

The invention discloses a switching method of a picture output device, which is used for a computer system, wherein the computer system is configured with a built-in display and can be connected with an external display. The method comprises the following steps of: firstly activating the computer system, and then obtaining the picture output device currently set by the computer system; and when the picture output device is an external display, detecting whether the external display is connected to the computer system, and if the external display is not connected to the computer system, then automatically switching the picture output device to the build-in display. Therefore, when the external display is not connected, the build-in display can be automatically switched to show display pictures.
