Abstract

Provided is a method for setting a weight of a droplet of liquid crystal to a reference weight by dropping the droplet of liquid crystal with the reference weight from a nozzle by sliding down a piston with a suitable distance in a cylinder. The advantages of the method is that even the inner wall of the cylinder is nonuniform due to lack of precision and accuracy during a period of preparing thecylinder and the piston as well as mounting the piston in the cylinder, the droplet of liquid crystal with the reference weight is dropped on each of panel areas defined on a mother substrate, such that each of the panel areas may obtain required droplets of liquid crystal.
