Abstract

The invention discloses a method, equipment and a system for improving type B protection switching performance. The method comprises: when an OLT has no fault, backing up the related information of a main PON port into a standby PON port and informing all ONUs of the fact that the OLT is in a type B protection state; when a fault is detected in the OLT, switching the main PON port to the standby PON port and sending a deregistration request to all ONU of the OLT; and after the OLT receiving re-registration requests of the ONUs, giving discovery windows in a whole period to all ONUs in a first authentication period and giving the discovery windows in part of the period to unregistered ONU in a subsequent authentication period till all ONUs finish re-registration. The equipment comprises an information backup unit, a deregistration request sending unit and a discovery window distribution unit. The method of the invention solves the problems of long switching time and unsatisfactory reliability of the prior art.
