The invention relates to an electronic device, comprising a case, a sensing device arranged on the case and a micro controller electrically connected with the sensing device. The sensing device comprises a carrying plate, a cylindrical carrying wall which is arranged on the carrying plate and is open at the two ends, a transmitter arranged on the carrying plate, a magnetic element, a plurality ofstrip-type electrodes arranged on the carrying wall and a detector electrically connected with the strip-type electrode. The transmitter is used for continuously transmitting charged particles vertical to the direction of the carrying plate. The magnetic element is relatively parallelly arranged at the outer side of the carrying plate and is used for generating a magnetic field vertical to the transmitting direction of the charged particles. When the electronic device rotates, the detector detects the strip-type electrode through which current flows, and droppoint of the charged particle on the carrying wall via the magnetic field after rotation is obtained. A mobile data is obtained according to the droppoint. The micro controller obtains an operating command according to the mobile data, and then the electronic device is operated according to the operating command. Corresponding function is realized by rotating the electronic device, thus being convenient to operate. The invention also relates to an operation method of the electronic device.
