Problems solved by technology

However, this often causes disturbances in the signal quality which are not corrected after the desired tests have been carried out
Often, damage to cables and / or connections is invisible to personnel operating the equipment, so the mere installation of today's test equipment can result in poor signal quality

Embodiment Construction

[0054] figure 1 An embodiment of a test point adapter 1 is shown having a body 2 comprising a first end 3 with a first interface 4 and a second end 5 with a second interface 6, in this embodiment the first Interface 4 is a rotating member or a rotating nut. A first central conductor 7 is arranged inside the body 2 extending beyond the first end 3 . The test body 11 is attached to the main body 2 . The test body 11 has a first test body end 13 (eg figure 2 better shown) and has a third interface 15 (such as figure 2 Better shown) the second test body end 14. The test point adapter 1 shown has male threaded connections 4, 6, however these connections could be female threads, or they could also be other types of engagement means.

Abstract

The invention relates to a test point adaptor for the coaxial cable connections, particularly to the test point adaptor for the coaxial cables. The test point adaptor may comprise a main body having a longitudinal axis with a first end comprising a first interface and a second end comprising a second interface and a first center conductor extending at least from the first interface to the second interface. Further, the test point adaptor may comprise a test body having a longitudinal axis arranged laterally to the main body. The test body comprises a first test body end and a second test body end comprising a third interface, and an electrically conductive contact member. The contact member is in electrical contact with the first center conductor so as to allow rotation of the main body relative to the first center conductor.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to test point adapters for coaxial cables. The invention also relates to the use of test point adapters for test cables. Background technique [0002] Use test adapters or test point adapters in order to test the performance of communication networks using coaxial cables such as cable TV and computer networks. In order to conduct the test, an access point must be provided to which the test equipment can be connected. [0003] Testing coaxial cables has become increasingly important due to the fact that more and more digital signals are carried over the cables. Interference in the signal, i.e. the signal / noise ratio in the digital signal is more likely to occur than when only analog signals are used, so ensuring high quality cables including connectors becomes even more critical. Furthermore, by eg using IP telephony, VPNs and similar products, the end users of the connections increasingly rely on the reliability of thes...
