Abstract

The invention provides a monitoring system and a monitoring method for complete interaction between a client and a server. The system comprises the client, the server and an agent. The client comprises a request transmission unit and an information receiving information, wherein the request transmission unit transmits a subscription request or a subscription cancellation request to the server; and the information receiving unit receives state information or alarm information. The server comprises a request receiving unit, an information collection unit, a second information returning unit and a cancellation collection unit, wherein the request receiving unit is used for receiving the subscription request or the subscription cancellation request; the information collection unit is used for actively collecting the state information of the agent or passively collecting the alarm information; the second information returning unit is used for returning the state information or the alarm information to the client; and the cancellation collection unit is used for triggering the information collection unit to stop collecting corresponding state information when receiving the subscription cancellation request. A first information returning unit of the agent returns the state information to the server or directly transmits the alarm information to the server after receiving a collection request. By the monitoring system and the monitoring method, network traffic is effectively reduced, and the real-time acquisition of important monitoring information is realized.
