The invention relates to a high-voltage orthogonal magnetized single-phase controllable reactor which comprises a working iron core, a working winding (2), control iron cores (5, 7) and control windings (6, 8), wherein the working iron core is formed by a main iron core column (1), a first side yoke (11), a second side yoke (12), a first side column (3) and a second side column (4). The main ironcore column (1) is a single column with a constant cross section and is formed by superposing a plurality of iron core cakes with gaps; the first side column (3) and the second side column (4) are ofconstant-cross-section iron cores without air gaps and are arranged in a bilateral symmetry manner with respect to the main iron core column (1); the first side yoke (11) and the second side yoke (12) are of constant-cross-section iron cores without air gaps and are arranged in an up and down symmetry manner with respect to the main iron core column (1); the working winding (2) is sheathed on themain iron core column (1); the two control iron cores (5, 7) are orthogonal to the main iron core column (1); and the control windings (6, 8) are respectively sheathed on control side columns of the control iron cores (5, 7).
