Abstract

The invention discloses a method for detecting the attentiveness of an online video viewer. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) presetting the number of embedded events according to video playing time; (2) setting a compatable for different response time and corresponding scores; (3) segmenting a video according to the number of the embedded events; (4) randomly generating specific time at which the embedded events are popped up in each video segment in a video playing process; (5) popping-up an embedded event dialog box at the preset video playing time, and eliminating the dialog box according to a dialog box hint by the viewer; (6) computing a score of the video segment according to time from the popup to elimination of the dialog box; and (7) summarizing the scores of eachvideo segment, computing an average score of the scores of each video segment and storing the average score into a storage module. Simultaneously, the invention also discloses a device for detecting the attentiveness of the online video viewer. By the method and the device, the attentiveness of the video viewer is intuitively and accurately judged, and an effective supervision function is realized in web-based instruction.
