Embodiment

[0113] The following examples are presented to provide those of ordinary skill in the art with a complete disclosure and illustration of how to make and evaluate the compounds, compositions, articles, devices and / or methods claimed herein, and are purely exemplary are not intended to limit the scope of the methods and systems. Efforts have been made to ensure accuracy with respect to numbers (eg, amounts, temperature, etc.), but some errors and deviations should be accounted for. Unless indicated otherwise, parts are parts by weight, temperature is in °C, and pressure is at or near atmospheric.

[0114] simulation modeling

[0115] To provide a tool for evaluating the electrical and mechanical performance of a system design, a simulation code is employed. The code is implemented using Simulink(TM) software, which includes power block elements, as known to those of ordinary skill in the art. Simulink(TM) employs a graphical programming environment such that the simulation la...

Abstract

Described herein are embodiments of an electromagnetic system that can be used to replace the traditional hydraulic oil systems that actuate mass movement. The embodiments described herein provide wide frequency range operation, ground force application with high fidelity, and low environmental impact. Embodiments described herein can be used for seismic exploration and vibroseis applications, among other uses.

Description

[0001] Cross-references to related applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of and priority to US Provisional Patent Application No. 61 / 160,405, filed March 16, 2009, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety and made a part hereof. Background technique [0003] As known in the art, vibroseis is a method used in exploration seismology to propagate an energy signal into the earth over a sustained or heavy falling trucks) provide different approximate instantaneous energy. Data recorded in this way can be correlated to convert a continuous source signal into pulses. Typically, the signal is generated by a servo-controlled hydraulic vibrator or vibrator unit mounted on a moving base unit. [0004] The technique of using seismic waves to detect oil deposits or other geological structures and / or anomalies of the earth is becoming quite sophisticated. Crucial to this work is the need for a high-fidelity ground-shaking machine in which force, frequ...
