[0042] figure 1 A wireless communication system 100 is shown having multiple wireless devices. Wireless communication systems 100 are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content, such as voice, data, and so on. These systems may be multiple-access systems capable of supporting communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (eg, bandwidth and transmit power). The wireless device may be a base station 102 , a wireless communication device 104 or a femto access point 106 . figure 1 A core network 114 is also depicted in .

[0043] Core network 114 is the central part of the telecommunications network that provides various services to customers connected to core network 114 . The core network 114 may be a single entity or multiple entities that facilitate wireless communication between the plurality of wireless communication devices 104 . Core network 114 may include multiple processors at one or more locations. Core network 114 ...

Abstract

A method for reducing interference to wireless communication devices is described. A handoff request is received from a wireless communication device. A femto access point that is a hand-in target of the handoff request is determined. A handoff information message is sent to the femto access point. The method may be performed by a core network apparatus.

Description

[0001] related application [0002] This application is related to and claims priority to US Provisional Patent Application No. 61 / 179,455, filed May 19, 2009, entitled "Femtocell Carrier and Power Adjustment to Minimize Interference to Non-Associated Users." technical field [0003] The present invention relates generally to wireless communication systems. More specifically, the present invention relates to systems and methods for minimizing interference to unassociated users. Background technique [0004] Wireless communication systems have become an important means by which many people around the world communicate. A wireless communication system may provide communication for a plurality of mobile stations, each of which may be served by a base station. [0005] It is advantageous to use localized base stations which serve a selected group of mobile stations. These localized base stations can use less power and have smaller coverage areas than ordinary base stations. ...
