Problems solved by technology

Disadvantages of axial profiling, particularly the manner in which it is applied in WO2008 / 049780 (that is, having a wavy profile where the pitch between the crests of two adjacent waves is relative to the circumference of the tube relatively small) has the disadvantage that the outer tube is easily crushed when the outer tube is loaded transversely to the tube surface (that is, in a direction transverse to the longitudinal central axis of the outer tube)

Embodiment Construction

[0025] In one embodiment, figure 1 An example of this implementation is shown in , and Figure 1A Shown in detail, the building support 10 comprises an outer tube 12 having a longitudinal center axis L. As shown in FIG. The outer tube 12 has a foot 14 at its lower end. A thread 16 is provided at a position adjacent to the upper end of the outer tube 12 . On the thread there are two elongated holes 18 which extend in a direction parallel to the longitudinal center axis L and are arranged diametrically relative to one another in the outer tube 12 . The building support 10 also includes an inner tube 20 slidably received within the outer tube 12 . The inner tube 20 has a series of paired holes 22 arranged over a part of the length of the inner tube 20 . The two holes of each pair of holes 22 are arranged diametrically relative to each other in the inner tube 20 . exist figure 1 In the example embodiment shown in , the upper end of the inner tube 20 may have an end plate 24 ...

Abstract

A construction prop provided with an outer pipe with a longitudinal central axis, a foot at a lower end of the outer pipe, a screw thread adjacent an upper end of the outer pipe, two slotted holes which are located at the screw thread and which extend in a direction parallel to the longitudinal central axis and which are provided diametrically relative to each other in the outer pipe, wherein an inner pipe which is slideably received in the outer pipe and is provided with a series of pairs of holes arranged over a part of the length of the inner pipe, wherein the two holes of each pair of holes are disposed diametrically relative to each other in the inner pipe, wherein the outer pipe comprises a foot reinforcement which is provided with a number of grooves which each extend in tangential direction around the entire circumference of the outer pipe, wherein each groove extends in an imaginary plane which extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal central axis.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a building support. Background technique [0002] Building supports have been known for many years. Examples of building supports are described in documents GB-755831 and DE694113U. These known building supports comprise an outer tube having a longitudinal central axis. The known outer tube has a foot at the lower end of the outer tube and a thread adjacent the upper end of the outer tube. Further, two slotted holes are provided on the thread and extend in a direction parallel to the longitudinal central axis, and the two slotted holes are arranged diametrically between each other on the outer tube middle. The known building support also comprises an inner tube which is slidably received within said outer tube. The inner tube has a series of pairs of holes arranged over a portion of the length of the inner tube, wherein two holes of each pair of holes are arranged diametrically relative to each other in the inner tube. Th...
