SOLUTION: The circuit breaker includes an opening / closing mechanism part having a handle and disposed between frame plates opposed to each other, a cross bar rotating together with the opening / closing mechanism part, a movable contactor operating together with the cross bar and having a movable contact at least at one end, a stationary contactor having a fixed contact which repeatedly moves closer and away to and from the movable contact, an arc extinguishing device which cuts arc generated between the two contacts, and a base in which the opening / closing mechanism part and the arc extinguishing device are accommodated.
