Abstract

The invention relates to an impedance matching element which is arranged between two mediums and comprises a plurality of uniform metamaterial sheet layers stacked into a whole along a direction vertical to the surfaces of the sheet layers, wherein each metamaterial sheet layer comprises a substrate and a plurality of artificial micro structures attached on the substrate, wherein impedances of the first sheet layer and the tail sheet layer are respectively same as impedances of the first medium and the second medium, a plurality of artificial micro structures with first patterns are attached on the first sheet layer and a plurality of artificial micro structures with second patterns are attached on the tail sheet layer, patterns of the artificial micro structures attached on a plurality of sheet layers at the middle are formed by combining the first patterns and the second patterns, and the first patterns are continuously reduced and the second patterns are continuously increased along the sheet layer stacking direction. The impedance matching element forms an impedance gradient layer through stacking a plurality of metamaterial sheet layers, and can eliminate impedance mutation between the two mediums, and thus the problem of electromagnetic wave energy loss caused by reflection when electromagnetic waves pass through a division surface of the two mediums is solved.
