Abstract

The invention provides a method, a device and a server used for providing internet protocol (IP) v4 content and supporting IPv6, which relate to internet technology. The method for providing the IPv4 content to an IPv6 user terminal includes that request information of the IPv6 user terminal for the IPv4 content is received; corresponding IPv4 content is obtained from an IPv4 information source according to the request information, wherein the IPv4 content comprises uniform resource locator (URL) links; the obtained IPv4 content is analyzed, for URL links which do not support access of the IPv6 user terminal, pointed content of the URL links is obtained according to the URL links, and the pointed content of the URL links is cached; the URL links are replaced with temporary URL links, the temporary URL links support the access of the IPv6 user terminal and point to content pointed by cached URL links; and the IPv4 content comprising the temporary URL links is fed back to the IPv6 user terminal. In transition development from IPv4 to IPv6, by means of a modification scheme with low cost, an IPv4 content source serving the IPv6 user terminal is achieved.
