Embodiment Construction

[0041] The present invention will be further described below in conjunction with accompanying drawing and specific embodiment:

[0042] A method for detecting heavy-package applications in an Android market, comprising the following steps:

[0043] (1) Extract the feature code from the dex file of each Android application;

[0044] (2) Calculate the edit distance between the feature codes of each Android application;

[0045] (3) Calculate the similarity between each Android application according to the edit distance, and compare it with a given threshold to determine whether it is a repackaged application.

[0046] The specific steps are described in detail as follows:

[0047] (1) Extract the feature code from the dex file of each Android application

[0048] As mentioned above, what the present invention adopts is a feature code formed in sequence based on the length of each character string. This information can be obtained from the dex file. The dex file has a fixed ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a detection method for repackage application in an android market. The method comprises the steps: calculating the length of character string used according to dex files of android applications so that the lengths are taken as feature codes for distinguishing different applications, calculating the edition distance between the features codes of the different applications to obtain the similarity of different android applications, comparing the similarity with a given threshold, thus determining whether the repackage application exists. The detection method can be used as an effective assistant means for detecting android malware.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to malware detection technology in smart phones, more specifically, a method for detecting heavy-package applications in an Android smart phone application market. Background technique [0002] The security of smartphones based on Android is worrying. Since Google officially released the first Android phone - HTC G1 in 2008, in just 4 years, Android phones have undergone many updates. The Android mobile application market is developing at an astonishing speed. According to a report by technology website Engadget in February 2012, the number of applications in the Android market has reached 450,000. As the market share of Android phones is increasing, the security of Android phones is becoming more and more worrying. Many malware creators have targeted this huge market, releasing all kinds of destructive software. According to the "McAfee 2012 First Quarter Threat Report" released by the famous security vendor McAfee on May 24,...
