The invention provides a back plate clock system and a back plate clock providing method. The back plate clock system comprises a first clock driving module and a first clock terminating module. The first clock driving module is used for driving clocks in two same channels and supplying the same to a first left-channel clock link and a first right-channel clock link, wherein the clocks in the two same channels refer to first clocks. The first clock terminating module is used for terminating and detecting the first left-channel clock link passing through clock processing modules of left-half function boards and the first right-channel clock link passing through clock processing modules of right-half function boards. By the aid of the technical scheme, the problems that capacity and expansion capability of an ATCA (advanced telecom computing architecture) system are limited and the clock performance cannot meet demands in the prior art are solved, so that capacity and expandability of the system are improved, and the clock performance and reliability are improved.
