The method comprises the steps as follows: when the reverse osmosis water purifying system is stopped after producing purified water, gas is filled into a water inlet of a reverse osmosis membrane element in the reverse osmosis water purifying system, and raw water and concentrated water in the reverse osmosis membrane element are replaced with the filled gas. Due to the adoption of the technical scheme, the raw water and the concentrated water in the reverse osmosis membrane element are replaced with the filled gas, so that bidirectional osmosis in a reverse osmosis membrane when the system is stopped can be avoided and the initial water producing TDS value when the system is restarted can be controlled to be lower.
