Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for updating images. The method includes steps of acquiring the variable quantity of a pixel value of each pixel in a current frame of a first image; determining a prospected variable quantity of a pixel value of an optional pixel in a current frame of a second image according to a preset ordered mapping relation among positions of pixels of the second image and positions of the pixels of the first image, the variable quantity of a pixel value of a certain pixel, which corresponds to the optional pixel in the current frame of the second image, in the current frame of the first image and variable quantities of pixel values of pixels within a preset neighboring range of the corresponding pixel in the current frame of the first image; and determining a pixel value of each pixel in a next frame of the second image according to a pixel value of each pixel in the current frame of the second image and a prospected variable quantity of the pixel value of the pixel. The steps of the method are implemented repeatedly at preset frequency. The method and the device have the advantage that computation required when images are updated can be reduced by the method.
